Whiff of Joy - Guest Designer Call

Katharina í Whiff of Joy netversluninni er að leita að gestahönnuði fyrir 2 mánuði og er því með áskorun í gangi. Ég geri mér sko engar vonir um að hreppa hnossið, heilu kippurnar af klárum kortakonum eru búnar að senda inn kort. En það er samt meiriháttar gaman að taka þátt þannig að ég gerði þetta kort eftir skissu #28 á blogginu hennar Katharinu. Mig langaði að prófa að gera svona kort sem er ekki með heilli framhlið og þetta er útkoman.

Katharina from the wonderful Whiff of Joy on line stamp store is looking for a guest designer for 2 months. She´s having a challenge, you are to make a card following one of her sketches. I don´t for a minute think I´ll be lucky enough to win, there are so many talented cardmakers out there who are participating. But since I love challenges I decided to participate anyway and here is the card I made from sketch #28. I had a lot of fun making one of those cards where a section of the front is cut off. A translation for those of you who don´t read Icelandic ;o) when the card is closed the sentiment reads "congratulations" and when you open it you reveal the rest "on your birthday".

Sukkersött #8

Áskorun vikunnar á norska kortablogginu Sukkersött er að nota eitthvað sem ekki telst venjulegt skrappdót. Ég fór í gegnum skúffur og skápa og lagði hausinn í bleyti og þetta er útkoman. Ég flatti út lok af dós undan myntum, notaði álpappír bæði undir myndina og í ræmum og til mótvægis við allt þetta glansandi pönsaði ég út hring úr sandpappír. Og ef maður vill pæla voða djúpt má vel tengja álið við flugvélina því flugvélar eru jú smíðaðar úr áli, ekki satt? ;o)

This week´s challenge on the Norwegian challenge blog Sukkersött is to use something that is normally not scrap related. I went through my drawers and this is what I came up with. I flattened a lid from a tin of mints and used aluminium foil both for matting and also cut into strips. As a contrast I punched a circle from sanding paper. Now, if you are a deep thinker and looking for a connection, planes are made from aluminium, right? ;o)

Áskorun vikunnar á Cute Card Thursday áskoranablogginu er "matur". Ég bætti vatnsflösku frá Eat Cake á picnic-teppið hjá þessari sætu hÄnglar-stelpu af því að það er hollt að drekka vatn ;o) og notaði textastimpil frá Scrapmagasinet.

This week´s challenge on Cute Card Thursday is "food". I added a water bottle from Eat Cake to this adorable hÄnglar girl´s picnic menu and used a text stamp from Scrapmagasinet.

Scrapmagasinet DT sketch challenge #3

Stelpurnar í DT-inu hjá Scrapmagasinet eru með nýja skissu á DT-blogginu. Ég speglaði skissuna til að myndin passaði betur og fannst hæfa myndinni og textastimplinum að nota hressilega liti. Fyndið hvað borðinn er í nákvæmlega sömu litum og pappírinn þó hann sé úr Söstrene Grene og ekki bofs tengdur pappírnum :o) Ef einhver veit hvar hægt er að fá skjannahvítan vatnslitapappír má gjarnan láta mig vita, mér fyndist fallegra þegar maður er að nota hvítt að hann sé líka hvítur en ekki svona off-white.

A new sketch over at the Scrapmagasinet DT-blog. I mirrored the sketch to make it fit the image better and I used lively colors since both the image and the Icelandic text are a bit lively. I love how well the ribbon fits the colors in the paper although it is not the same brand at all. If anyone can tell me where I can find bright white watercolor paper please let me know, I would prefer it to match when I´m using bright white papers and embellies.

Eitt sett / A set of cards

Þetta fljótgerða sett af tækifæriskortum gerði ég til að prófa fleiri af nýju íslensku textastimplunum frá Scrapmagasinet. Mér finnst þeir frábærir og hægt að nota þá á svo marga vegu.

Afmæliskort / Birthday card

Kláraði þetta afmæliskort á methraða í gærkvöldi, var í smá tímapressu. Kannski ekki alveg eins mikið litasamræmi og ég hefði viljað, en ... jújú ... alveg ágætt held ég.

I didn´t have much time to ponder over this card, but I think I like it anyway.
